Location and Development

The community’s coordinates are 51°03′07″N 114°09′03″W, situated at an elevation of 1,140 meters, providing it with spectacular views of the surroundings.

Although the area where Wildwood lies was first settled in 1883, the neighborhood itself was established in 1956, during Calgary’s mid-century expansion. It retains much of its original charm with bungalow-style houses and spacious lots.

Wildwood is characterized by its single-detached bungalows set on generous lots lined with rear laneways. Its boundaries include Edworthy Park to the north, Spruce Cliff to the east, and Bow Trail to the south.

The expansion of Bow Trail between 2006 and 2009 to support increased suburban traffic is a testament to Calgary’s growth and the need for improved infrastructure to serve its communities.
