Geographic Location and Name Origins

Tuscany’s location is both scenic and strategic, bordered by major roads and natural features. It sits at the western edge of Calgary, framed by Crowchild Trail to the north, Stoney Trail, Nose Hill Drive, and Two Toed Pond to the south, with Twelve Mile Coulee Road and the borders of Lynx Ridge and Bearspaw to the west. Its coordinates are 51°07′26″N 114°14′47″W, and the community sits at an elevation of 1,180 meters (3,870 feet).

The neighborhood draws its name from the renowned region of Tuscany in Italy, reflecting perhaps the aspirations for a community filled with charm and a strong sense of place.

Demographics

As of the 2019 municipal census, Tuscany boasted a population of 19,884. The community has experienced steady growth and is a diverse blend of individuals and families. The median household income is considerably higher than in some other communities at $92,453 (2005), with only 7.1% of residents classified as low income.

With 18.5% of residents being immigrants, the community is culturally diverse.
