Location

Situated immediately north of the Trans-Canada Highway and adjacent to the community of Rosedale, Mount Pleasant enjoys a central location that is easily accessible. To its north and west, it is bordered by the expansive Confederation Park, providing residents with numerous recreational opportunities.

History

Mount Pleasant was annexed to the city of Calgary in 1910, and it was officially established as a neighbourhood in 1912. Over the years, it has developed into a vibrant community with a strong sense of identity.

According to the 2012 municipal census, Mount Pleasant had a population of 4,851, residing in 2,654 dwellings. This marked a 2.8% increase from the 2011 population of 4,718. Covering a land area of 1.9 km² (0.73 sq mi), the neighbourhood had a population density of 2,550/km² (6,610/sq mi) in 2012.

The community boasts a median household income of $48,334, with 15.3% of residents living below the low-income threshold. As of 2000, 14.4% of the residents were immigrants, contributing to the diversity of the neighbourhood.
