Lakeview is defined by its borders, comprising Glenmore Trail SW, Crowchild Trail SW, and 37th Street SW. The Tsuu T’ina Nation Indian reserve adjoins the community to the west, addng a unique cultural dimension to the neighborhood.
The southern part of Lakeview, known as Lakeview Village, stands out for its larger, more upscale residences. It is important to note that the area east of Crowchild Trail SW, although often mistaken as part of Lakeview, is actually North Glenmore Park.
History
Founded in 1962, six years after its annexation by Calgary, Lakeview derives its name from the stunning views of Glenmore Reservoir that its location offers. Engineered Homes Ltd. of Calgary was responsible for constructing many of the neighborhood’s initial homes.
