Erlton is a dynamic inner-city residential neighbourhood in Calgary’s southwest quadrant. Established in 1906, it has evolved into a well-integrated community, bordered by the Elbow River to the north and west, Spiller Road to the east, and Mission Road to the south. Macleod Trail runs through the neighbourhood, providing easy access to various parts of the city.

Geography and Demographics

Spanning an area of 0.5 km² (0.19 sq mi), Erlton sits at an elevation of 1,060 m (3,480 ft). According to the 2012 municipal census, it had a population of 1,234 residents living in 742 dwellings, marking a slight 0.2% increase from its 2011 population of 1,231. The community has a population density of 2,470/km² (6,400/sq mi).

Community Amenities

Erlton boasts excellent public transit access with the Erlton/Stampede station of the C-Train LRT system serving the community. It is neighbored by the MNP Community & Sport Centre and Lindsay Park to the north, while the Stampede Grounds are situated to the northwest, adding to the area’s vibrancy during event seasons.
